In the ODOR-GC project, PROAMBIENTE is responsible for:

1. Assisting partner Terra&Acqua Tech in a preliminary study to define the set of gaseous compounds, indicators of olfactory nuisance, to be researched during monitoring activities, resulting in the selection of appropriate chemical phases to implement in the ODOR-GC instrument;
2. Leveraging its expertise in system integration and experimental characterization to test the performance of the assembled instrument in the laboratory;
3. Implementing a modeling chain to determine the path taken by odoriferous air masses;
4. Organizing measurement campaigns in operational environments to test the instrument with continuous measurements;
5. PROAMBIENTE is the coordinator and will also be responsible for Project Management and dissemination activities.

In the ODOR-GC project, Terra&AcquaTech is responsible for:

1. Conducting an analysis of the operational environmental context of ODOR-GC to define a list of target odoriferous compounds that the instrument will need to identify;
2. Leveraging its expertise in method validation, chemical analysis, atmospheric sampling, and data processing, Terra&AcquaTech will play an active role in the validation phase of the ODOR-GC instrument, both in the laboratory and during field tests.

The role of CRPA LAB in the ODOR-GC project is to enable the comparison between monitoring results obtained with gas chromatographic analytical techniques in WP4 and WP6. This is done to verify whether, at certain concentrations of specific target compounds in the air measured by the ODOR-GC instrument and by GC-MS technique, there is a corresponding response in terms of odor concentration (expressed in terms of odor units per cubic meter) detected using the standard sensory technique of Dynamic Olfactometry
